Sickness Essentials.

Yesterday I went to sleep not feeling so hot.  To be completely honest with you, I felt something coming on while I was at work and I was trying to fight it, as I still find myself trying to do.  I went to bed fairly early last night because I felt like sleeping it off would be the best thing to do.  I am normally the last person who goes running to the doctor for any ailment.  I like to try and solve problems as naturally as possible, without any medication.  I know this isn't always practical and don't get me wrong, I do take Advil if I get a migraine that I just cant shake, but here are some of the things that I find comfort in while trying to nurse myself back to health the best that I can.

Tazo Well Being Tea is absolutely phenomenal.  I have to be honest with you, I don't LOVE the flavor.  It is tolerable, but the thing about this tea is that it really helps with a throat issue (which is what my main problem was).  The soothing texture, as in any tea, was a huge help in calming down my hurt throat and instantly allowed me to feel so much better.  I had one cup of this tea this morning before work and another one this evening and it has assisted me in feeling better tremendously.

Another tip I can give you is to make sure you take some sort of Vitamin C.  There are a thousand different ways of incorporating Vit. C into your diet, but when you are sick it is extremely important because as you can see on the side of the bottle, it assists your immune system (which fights off colds and sickness).

Any huge container of water should always be at your side on any given day.  At the same time, while you are sick it is great to push the fluid of any kid to flush your body rid of any harsh toxins.  This makes it so the sickness will leave your body faster, it really acts as a cleanse.  I always add a wedge of lemon in my water, the citrus is great for you and so fresh (also, some added flavor).

Last but not least, if you have a great dad that will make you homemade chicken soup, go ahead and ask him to do so.  Ironically enough, I didn't even have to ask my dad to make me any, he did it himself.  Thanks Dad, Love you so much! xoxo!  If you don't, go ahead and get something good from the grocery store and make sure its good!  What I mean by this, is get something that is simple and not packed with carbs and salt.  This is homemade so the ingredients are simple: water, chicken, peppers, carrots, onions and some spices.  Don't go to the store and get LOADED soup because although you might feel like you want to eat anything because you're sick, it will just make you feel worse in the long run.

If you're not feeling well, I hope you get better!  What do you guys eat/drink/do when you're sick?  When I have time to try and sleep it off, I do that and all of this stuff listed here.  Send me a tweet and let me know.  Thanks for reading!

Rockin' the Frock.

So we've seen this little frock before and here we are seeing it again.  It was a beautiful Sunday today and the weather was nice.  The only thing I could have asked for was a little bit less wind but living on the water can do that to you.  I can't complain.  I wore the frock as an actual tunic today and with some cute, casual flats, RM Mac and of course my classic MK 5606.  I know I'm mixing metals here, but I love my MK 5606 way too much to ever let it go.  Plus - there are no limits on fashion in my opinion.

Patterns please.

Here is what I wore today.  Same old story with the shoes because we have all seen that I am 100% obsessed with them.  The skirt is from Target and can be seen in my haul that I recently posted and the shirt is from H&M.  I never thought that I would pair these two together but I just love the contrast of the patterns.  The watch that I am wearing here is my MK 5606 like normal.  The bag (!!!!!!!)  is my brand new Rebecca Minkoff MAC bag.  I can't even tell you guys how obsessed I am with this bag.  I am going to do a separate post about it but its beautiful.  The inside has an amazing blue and black polka dot pattern and generally it is a lot bigger than I had thought it would be.  More to come!

What did you wear today?  How is spring turning out where you are?  Send me a tweet and let me know what you think about the outfit and tell me what you are wearing.  Thank you for reading.

Introducing.. The New Icons by H&M.

The frock. (The New Icons Collection).

The shoes.

It was rainy and sunny and rainy and sunny today.  There really was no explanation for the weather.  You can see why I have quite the gloomy outfit but still chic nonetheless.  Love the texture in the pattern on the top and mixed with the cute lace tennis sneakers it is super adorable.  What did you wear today?  Send me a tweet or leave a comment below!

Black swan.

You never know when you need to have a nice outfit ready.  There are some circumstances that you just need to get something put together fast and you don't want to have to worry about it.  Well, here is the solution to that problem.  Sorry in advance for the darker, grainer photos.

The black blazer, as you have seen from several different posts here, is from H&M.  The dress underneath was an absolute steal from Target.  The braided-style belt is also from Target (with the dress).  The nails that I am showing you in this photo are very subdued and nude (see what I did there). The color is Deborah Lippmann's "Naked."  I chose, at the last minute, to straighten my hair and pull back my bangs for a more sleek look.  The shoes that I chose to sport were my brown Aldo pumps.

It's a Chambray Day.

It's a chambray day.  I absolutely love this cute little frock from Old Navy.  You can see me feature this in my haul from a couple of days ago.  Speaking of which I have some really great news!  I have won $250 to Hatuelook for sharing my haul!  I thank them SO SO much for having the contest and I am so grateful for the prize.  Also, thankful to Leah and Mary from A Fab Life for hosting the contest as well.  I am so excited to get something FAB from Hautelook, I love the website!

The Need.. For Tweed.

I really regret not buying this jacket.  The tweed combined with the asymmetrical zipper is so cool.  I don't know what the face is that I am making here, but I really enjoy this jacket and need it in my life right now.  I can assure you that it is no longer in stores and I don't even remember the brand, but it really makes me mad that it isn't in my closet.

Have you guys ever thought back to a clothing piece that you didn't buy?  Send me a tweet and let me know or leave a comment below.  Thank you for reading.

Shopaholic Tag and OOTD.

Random outfit of the day:

Blazer: H&M
Top: Cotton On
Skirt: H&M
Shoes: Aldo

Would you consider yourself a shopaholic?

Yes, 100%.  You get to the point where if you shop every single day you pretty much have to consider yourself a shopaholic.  To be honest with you though, its better than being addicted to almost anything else.  I wouldn't really want to give up my addiction to shopping.

How would you classify your style?

I love fashion all together so it would be really hard to classify my style to one specifically. I love to wear things that are classic and that look put together.  At the same time, I am really girly and then at sometimes I can be super bohemian.  I love a cute maxi dress/skirt with my hair down and a headwrap. It's virtually impossible to classify just one style for me.

What store can you not leave without buying at least one thing?

For me this is a no brainer, Target or H&M.  I'm sure that you have heard a million people say this before, but there are so many things in Target that I sometimes convince myself that I need when I know I really don't.  Sometimes Target just sucks you in and it's not only in the clothing section but with the candles, cosmetics, shoes and jewelry sometimes.  I love that place, it's like wonderland.

Where do you find the best deals?

To be honest with you, I love shopping for deals.  With that being said, I can find a great deal anywhere that I go.  I love Old Navy and have seen some really good sales there lately.  When things AREN'T on sale there though, they have gotten fairly expensive, I can't believe it!  You can also always catch something for a great deal at Forever 21 or even Target.

What designer are you willing to splurge for?

When I am shopping, I usually just look for things I love.  I don't care if they are designer or not, I buy it if I like it.  If I had to pick one designer, I would chose Longchamp.  Now I know what you're thinking, some of the bags aren't really that expensive.  While thats true, I love to make an investment in a Longchamp bag, they really are great.

Do you have a "go to" shopping outfit?

I don't.  I sometimes don't even think about what I am going to wear and end up putting on something that is really inconvenient.  I hate when I get to the mall or something and then realize that I am wearing leggings, two layers of some kind of top and boots.  I hate when I have to take everything off and put everything back on.  Sometimes I get lazy and leave my leggings on when I try something on but pay for it later when I get home and re-try everything on and hate most of it.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Sometimes when I walk into Forever 21, I like and want almost everything in the store.  I also walk into Aldo and like almost all of the shoes that are on the shelf.

What is one staple clothing piece that you cannot live without?

Definitely leggings.  I say this because I love how comfortable they are and recently with my weight loss, they are what is the best for me.  I don't want to go and buy a whole bunch of pairs of pants because I am continuing to lose weight and it is a complete waste.  I think though, that leggings can be made into so many different outfit creations and there are so many different types of them.

What is a trend that you hope never goes out of style?

Lace everything!

What trend did you love that passed way too quickly?

Hrmmmm!  I don't know.  I think every trend that has gone out, has gone out for a reason but I would have to say the loafers with spikes on them.  I don't know why, but I HATED that trend.  I love loafers but I really don't like the stupid studs!  Hahah, ugh.

Who is your fashion icon?

I like to create looks from things I am inspired by on a daily basis.  I don't really like anyone elses style more than another.  If I see something in the store, I will pick it up if I like it.  If I see someone wearing something that I like, I will try and find it in the store.  My style is a product of my life and the things around me.

I hope you all enjoyed this quick little read.  Do this tag if you like it!  Send me a tweet and let me know your answers to these questions or you can leave answers in the comments below.  Thanks for reading.

Manicure Monday: Reach For The Rising Sun (& a cheeky OOTD).

Call me temper-mental or something but here I am talking about the weather again.  It was pretty nice out today, reaching 70 degrees!  I was really happy about it but now I just want summer a little bit more (okay a lot).  I wore another rendition of my maxi dress from Old Navy with this gorgeous J. Crew cardigan sweater in sea foam green.  Because it was a little windy, this was probably the perfect selection for outfit wearing today.

Back to Manicure Monday's theme that we normally have on a Monday (obviously).  I wanted something pink for some reason so I chose "Sugar High" by China Glaze.  Of course I had to go ahead and do something cute on the ring finger and in the spirit of fab spring weather, I went with the good old shining sun!  Ugh, I LOVE it.

What did you all wear today and put on your nails?  Send me a tweet and let me know or comment below!  Thank you for reading as always.

Overlapping Oxfords.

Of course I write a post yesterday talking about how the weather was warm.  Today.. not at all.  This doesn't stop me from wishing spring was around, so I wear green and coral.  I am off from work today and heading out to do some shopping.  Here is what I wore.

Oxford under: H&M Divided.
Oxford on top: Old Navy.

Played with some colors.

Poppin' the collar.

I have had these Steve Madden flats since last year and have worn them to death.  I love the coral color and the texture.  My watch is MK 5606, the rings are from Old Navy, the necklace is from Forever 21 and the sunglasses are RayBan Wayfarers.

What do you wear on your day off?  Send me a tweet or leave me a comment and let me know.

Manicure Monday: April Showers Bring May Flowers.

April showers do bring May flowers.  I think this is probably going to be the case here in New Jersey for the rest of the month.  Even though my chosen source of weather is sunshine, I guess I will endure a month of rain just to get closer to the summer.  This famous phrase was the inspo for this weeks Manicure Monday and I am absolutely loving all of the color.  The base color is Zoya's Breezi.

What are you rocking for this weeks Manicure Monday?  How often do you change your polish?  I love a fresh start to the month.  Leave a comment below or send me a tweet and let me know.  Thanks for reading!
