It's 2021!!!
I absolutely cannot believe that I have had this blog since 2012. NINE YEARS. It truly is not thinkable to me that next year this blog is going to be celebrating its 10th anniversary.
There have been so many times that I have thought about shutting this one down and starting new, but to no avail. There's a reason for this. I am a huuuuuuge fan of tradition. Tradition to me makes me feel good, it makes me feel like I am home - and this blog, this tradition, feels so much like home.
I like the idea that I am able to go back so many years and see what I was doing while sitting in a classroom truly just "waiting for the internet" while my professors started the class and the teachings. (Hello Monmouth)
What I think is most exciting about this blog too is that it has gone through a lot of changes over the past 9 years: I've changed the name, I've changed it back, I've wanted to change it again but didn't. This time, I am going to change and bring it back to where it was before: Heard It Through The Irvine. There is something so magical for me about this. I thought about it for so long.
I loved the idea of Le Sauvage Blog, I thought it was so 'cool' and so 'nonchalantly, idgaf me' but it didn't give me what I wanted from it. I had all these plans - but I barely posted. Soooooo many ideas swirled around ravenously in my head every single day, I thought about them day in and day out, but I just never. ever. posted them. I am taking that as a sign.
I have heard from multiple people that 2021 is a "One Year" it's a time of new beginnings. This is incredible exciting for me. I had so many new beginnings last year (which I will get more into later), so I cannot wait to see what 2021 has for me when it comes to "new beginnings" as well. I have a few ideas of what I want them to be, but we will see.
When it comes to the blog, I have my own internal goals, I am not going to outwardly say them. I used to think "oh, I am going to leave them here because it holds me accountable" but ABSOLUTELY NOT in 2021. My blog is my absolute happy place and I am not here to have it become something that "holds me accountable" -- so that is not going to happen.
Looking very much forward though to sharing more about my home (and journey), pilates, cooking, reading, work. These are the things that thrill me so much right now in this time in my life. Sounds ridiculous, but that's just where I am. Truly hoping that you are just as excited as I am, because this is going to be freaking FUN.
