Memorial Day Festivities!

Hello friends!  I figured I would get a little more personal and share some photos from my weekend with you!  I hope you guys enjoyed your weekend as well.  Share in the comments what you guys did this weekend or send me a tweet! :)

My Memorial Day Weekend Outfit.

It took me a while to figure out what I was going to wear to this party today but I finally did.  The shirt was from h&m, the tank was from Cotton On, the belt is from Target, the shorts are from J. Crew and the watch is my trusty MK 5606.  I didn't wear any shoes to the party! ;)  The outfit was pretty slouchy and simple and perfect just for hanging out.  Happy Memorial Day!

What are you guys wearing for his holiday weekend?  Send me a tweet and let me know or leave a comment below.  Thanks for reading of course!

Nip + Fab: Coconut Latte Body Butter.

For today I wanted to switch it up a bit and talk about something that I have been absolutely loving beauty-wise.  I know that body butters are normally for the colder seasons, but part of getting ready for the summer is making sure your skin is nice, smooth and hydrated because we all know we'll be seeing a whole lot more of it come hotter weather.

It's not very often that I use body butter, lotion even.  Most of the time I just use lotion to smell something good, tbh.  I really never had myself in a great routine of exfoliating and then moisturizing and I really regret doing that.  Now that I have seen the light, I have started applying a whole lot more lotion and mostly the body butter that I am going to be talking about.  Making sure you are hydrated and moisturized just makes you feel so much better. even healthier.

Alright, alright!  Let's get on with things.  Introducing to you all: Nip + Fab.  Now I have never even heard about this brand before and to be honest, I didn't know it was sold at Target.  Apparently, it is a London-based company and is carried generally in more places there.  When i go to Target though, I think its quite obvious that I keep my eye out in the beauty section and until this specific trip to Target, I had never seen the brand.

What drew me in initially was the scent of the body butter that I ended up purchasing, it was Coconut Latte.  If you guys read my blog, you know that I love anything coconut.  I picked up the body butter, smelled it and instantly fell in love.  Without any thinking I put it in my basket and didn't look back.  I didn't think I was going to fall so in love with it, but I am totally okay with the fact that I did.

As the container says, the body butter is a "dry skin fix" and it promises to "transport yourself to the tropical islands," and it does both of them.  OMG you guys, the scent is heaven.  It smells like sunscreen with the TINIEST bit of coffee in it.  I use the body butter every time I get out of the shower. I have sensitive skin, and I have noticed in the past that whenever I used Bath and Body Works lotions my skin would break out right away because the fragrances are usually way too heavy.  With Nip + Fab Coconut Latte, this NEVER happens.

The body butter keeps my skin completely moisturized and it feels luxurious.  The scent and effect it has on your skin combined, are perfection.  I also wanted to mention that I literally use it ALL OVER my body as well, not just my legs.  The moisture factor is great with this because of the perfect thickness of the formula.

I hope you guys will try out Nip+Fab, I really do love them.  Get your hands on their body butter and check out the rest of the stuff they carry as well, maybe you can find something else you like.  I am looking forward to trying something else that they have in the near future and I hope my Target starts carrying more of their stuff!

Nip + Fab can be found in Target, ULTA, Debenhams, Boots, Shoppers, Walgreens and Harvey Nichols and on their website.

Send me a tweet or let me know in a comment below what you like to use to stay moisturized.  What have you used in the past and what is the best?  Thank you for reading!

Memorial Day Manicure!

Guys, Memorial Day is HERE!  Can you believe it?  Honestly, I can't believe that the unofficial start of summer is here already.  Being that I live at the Jersey Shore, the mecca of all benny locations, we have started to see bennies already.  What better way to rid your mind of the tourists than with some nail art? As you had seen on the first Manicure of May, I did the flags like I have here.  Today I wanted to add something fabulous, so I decided to go with quite an "argyle" design, some sparkles and a red tip on a blue nail.  I hope you guys can recreate this look.

Send me a tweet and let me know if you have recreated this look.  You can also leave a comment below letting me know what different brands of polish you used and whatever else you did to make it yours!  Happy Memorial Day!  I hope you had a great weekend, and let me know how you celebrate!

Strawberry Honeydew Smoothie.

Hi everyone!  Today, I wanted to show you how I made this awesome, healthy smoothie.  This is fool proof, and when i say this, I really mean it.

I chose strawberries.

I also chose honeydew melon.

You will also need some yogurt.  You don't HAVE to have this, but I really like it because it adds to the creamy texture of the smoothie.  Also, this is the 80 calorie option from Dannon, I love this because I always try and go for something lower calorie so that there is room for other calories like protein powder if you chose to add that.

A spoon and a knife to mix things and cut the strawberries.

Ice to create the smoothie-like texture.

A magic bullet/blender.

A glass to put the smoothie in and a straw!

Combine everything (and protein powder if you want to, I did here) and you are set to go.  I absolutely love this smoothie because it is so customizable to whatever you like.  Send me a tweet and let me know what combination you like to recreate.  You can also leave a comment below.  Thanks for reading! :)

Target Takes the Cake.

I have to say, the closer that summer gets and the warmer the weather gets outside, the happier I am.  I am sure you are feeling the same way I am.  So if this is true, you must be thinking about what you want to buy as far as swimsuits, clothes and accessories because I know I sure am.  Today, I am going to show you a couple of quick things that I found on the Target website that I hope to see and purchase in stores sometime soon.

I love one-piece bathing suits and two-piece tankinis.  I think there are so many different combinations out there that are so adorable and this one is super cute.  I love the color of this the most because I don't see it that often.  The scrunchy, ruffled style pulls everything in, making it very flattering.

As you all know, I have recently been obsessed with my Rebecca Minkoff Mac bag.  The one complaint that I do have about it though, is that on the shoulder portion,  my hair gets stuck in the silver studs on the top!  I never thought that something would be designed so poorly like that, I couldn't believe it!  With that being said, I am ready to start using a new bag because I can't have one that rips all my hair out.  I love the color of this one and I love that it is simple but bright yellow so it also makes a statement.  Also, who can be mad at $20?

Okay, so can we all just take one second and admire how beautiful this vest is.  As you all know, for some reason I have been obsessed with the military-style trend and I love my new jackets from H&M.  This would be the perfect addition to the wardrobe and my love for the style because its basically a vest version of the jacket.  I love the symmetry of the vest too, because it's edgy and I feel like it would look hot with a casual pair of distressed jeans!   With the weather getting warmer and nicer, this would be fabulous for styling some outfits.

I can't even begin to tell you how many beach bags that I have but this one is just adorable.  I can totally see myself bringing this with me in my basket on my beach cruiser while wearing a fedora and sipping a pina colada.  I love the colorblocking on this bag because orange is my favorite color and the darker summer hues are adorable.

What are you craving for summer?  Trust me, this isn't everything.  I just wanted to show you what I have been loving on the Target website.  Send me a tweet and let me know or leave a comment below.

Revamping Old Candle Jars! - Video.

Hey everyone!  I am really annoyed because today was a rainy/crappy day.  I turned my frown upside down though and decided to do a DIY!  I haven't done one of these on the blog in a really long time so I figured it was time to bring it back and inspiration struck me at the perfect time!  As we all probably are, I am addicted to Bath and Body Works candles and I always buy them.  I can't stand to buy them when they aren't on sale because the sale price is just too good (2/$22).  I have so many of the jars left over and I keep them because I always look at one when it's done burning and I go, "What can I do with that?"

As you can see in the video, I showed you three of the smaller jars.  Both common size jars that Bath and Body Works sells can be revamped into what I show you in the video.  I like the smaller size for most cosmetics because most stuff fits really well into it.  I currently have my makeup brushes in a larger one though.  I love it.  You can also use these candle jars for things other than cosmetics.  I can imagine seeing them as stationary holders (pens, pencils, paperclips, rubber bands), there are so many uses.  Also, you can use them for household items in the kitchen, bathroom, living room or anything else.  You can even go as far as to use them as a smaller flower vase for cut off flowers.  Adorable!

Without further adieu, here is the video and I hope that you enjoy it!  Please keep in mind that you are more than welcome to decorate the jars when they are complete for an added look.  I didn't decorate because I love the simple look.  Send me a tweet or leave a comment below with what you think!

Tropical Rainforest.

So today was really one of those days that I didn't feel like doing anything.  When I got home in the afternoon, I just wanted to clean my room, read blogs and watch YouTube and thats exactly what I did.  It's amazing how much the weather can change your mood.  It looked like it was supposed to be nice this morning, actually I should say that it look promising.  Taking a positive outlook on the day, I was just hoping that it would be sunny but I ended up not having my dreams for the day come true.  The rain trickled down once every hour and it was just that annoying, spitting type of rain, the day just was not as I had hoped.

I got home and changed immediately and it instantly made me feel better.  I took off my makeup and cleaned my room, did some laundry and just relaxed.  I decided to just throw on something really comfortable but I wanted to feel like I looked good.  There is something to be said about dressing to feel good and and feel relaxed at the same time.  The good vibes are cool, even if you are hanging out home alone for the rest of the night.

My top here is from Forever 21 and I got it a couple of months ago, I don't really know if they would still have it but I'm sure there's something like it.  The shorts are last seasons h&m and I absolutely love them.  The high-waisted aspect just makes them so flattering and comfortable.  I also like the pattern because its black and white tropical, so incredibly on trend but so, so cute.  I think they were $7, too.  Love.  I just have a sports bra on underneath the sheer shirt.  I am going to be honest and tell you that I probably wouldn't go out of the house like this, I would probably put on a regular bra and a tank top underneath the shirt, but for just hanging out at home this is fine.

What do you guys wear to chill at home when it's raining?  Send me a tweet and let me know or you can always leave a comment down below!  Thank you so much for reading.

Ice Crackle.

I was never that obsessed with crackle polish but this I can get down with this!  I wanted to paint my nails a little bit more with "In the Cab-ana" by Essie because I can't rave enough about it, so I decided to try crackle on top of it.  This is Blue Crackle from OPI.  I have to say, I really was never that into crackle, especially when it came out, this is the only color I bought.  I can also probably tell you that the only reason I have this one is because I think it was on sale.  I still basically feel the same way about it, I really don't like it.  In the Cab-ana is fabulous though, ugh, just look at it! :)

Send me a tweet and let me know if there are any nail trends that you have absolutely hated before.  You can also leave a comment below.  Thank you so much for reading.

Fuzzy Coat Falls Flat.

Hey all.  Today I wanted to show you something that I am really not impressed with AT ALL.  I had seen Eva Chen post on her Insta a photo of Sally Hansen's Fuzzy Coat nail polish in a couple of colors.  When I saw them in her photo, I thought they were not going to come out for a while and I was going to have to wait; well I was wrong.  When I was in Target recently, I was walking through the cosmetics and I saw an end-cap that was originally FULL of the new polishes but there were only two bottles of one color left.  The color left was a blue/green/yellow combination that I think I would have oped for even if all of the colors were still available.  The color name: "Fuzz-Sea."

With that being said, I decided to purchase the polish and I think it was between $4-$5.  I didn't really mind the price because I was thinking that I would probably like it, and it wasn't bad at all.  A while back, I had tried Ciate's Velvet Manicure and I fell in love.  The colors that I had for that textured manicure were very fall/winter so I figured if I liked that, let me try this spring alternative.  I was thinking that nothing would go wrong and I would probably like it because textured manicure's in the past, were something I enjoyed.  I was also looking forward to saving a couple of bucks on the price in the future if I wanted to end up repurchasing the Sally Hansen option.

Let me tell you guys, I don't like it.  "Fuzzy Coat" really failed me.  Now, the first thing I would say about it is that it is extremely goopy.  Now I know all 'top-coat' polishes that have glitter or some type of texture in it are normally goopy and much more dense, but this one was especially nasty for some reason.  I also didn't like the fact that the polish took absolutely FOREVER to dry.  I don't know about you guys, but I hate when polishes take a long time to dry.  I mean, I know you have to be patient when painting your nails (obviously), of all people I know this, but it was just horrible.  My last and final complaint about the polish is that you can really only feel the texture a little bit.  You would think that with a name like "fuzzy coat" you would think the texture would really stand out, it fell flat.

Let me know in a tweet if you have tried this polish.  Also, you can leave a comment down below and let me know if you have tried any other brands or types of textured nail polish.  I think I will be sticking with Ciate for textured manicures from now on, unless of course you guys can suggest something else for me to try!  Thank you so much for reading.

Shine of the Purple Times.

Hey guys.  Today I wanted to bring you a cute manicure that is really simple but adorable at the same time.  I like this polish because it looks good on nails that aren't necessarily tan yet, lol.  If you know what I mean.  The purple color looks really nice on my skin tone which is pretty light.  The purple color is Lady Like by Essie and the accent nail is Shine of the Times, also by Essie.  SOTT is from Essie's Luxe Effects line that I absolutely love.  I hope you enjoy!  Send me a tweet and let me know what you are wearing on your nails today or leave a comment below.

Everyone check out today's video, "Chambray Three Ways."  I love this video because I have recently been obsessed with chambray shirts for the spring and I can tell that I will probably be wearing them in the summer too.  The reason I love chambray is because it is so versatile, not only in the way that it can be worn, but in the styles that it comes in.  As you can see in this video, I showed you a dress as well.  Now I can agree with some of your comments that these may not be 100% chambray and I understand. With that being said, these are "chambray-style" outfits.  Another great thing that deals with how versatile these shirts are is the style, like I had previously stated.  Each piece, as you can see in the video, can be used as a cardigan or just a shirt.

Without giving everything away from the video, go ahead and check it out!  Share it with your friends if you like it and be sure to subscribe as well.  Thank you so much for reading the blog and supporting! Also, please send me a tweet or leave a comment below and let me know if you have been loving chambray-style shirts or even a dress.
