TWITTER IS MY FAVORITE!

Twitter is my all-time favorite social media platform.  As a social media professional, I work with so many different platforms every single day and aside from that, social media is also my passion/hobby.  For a plethora of reasons, Twitter has made me realize that something so small (yet so big) can establish such a powerful connection.  Whether the connection matters on a larger scale or a smaller one, it's still a connection and isn't that all we're after  in the long run?

Usually when running a twitter for a large company, local business or even for yourself, the bottom line or ultimate goal is to connect with people.  Whether you are trying to uphold or create a brand awareness or just communicate personally with friends or a celebrity you may idolize, it's all done through messages and connection.  Twitter makes it so easy to deliver these messages.

What I also cherish about the platform is the power that it has over you to try and make you think.  Should you be tasked with the objective to deliver a message for a company/brand that is so full of information, you may be caught off guard by the character limit.  Because Twitter obviously only allows the user to tweet 140 characters, you must invest more time in thinking about your message, which may in turn make it that much more meaningful.   Because you only have 140 characters, the message is full of that much more value.

Whether you're managing a corporations twitter or your own, you reserve the right to make a brand come alive.  Giving the brand a personality can be so entertaining and rewarding in many ways.  Searching hashtags or keywords in an area  allows you to enter realtime conversation about people that can be qualified and relevant to your brand, which makes the experience all the better.  Not only do you get enjoyment out of your accomplishments in making the brand come alive, but you have done wonders for the social media presence of said brand.

Most reasons why people use social media can be attributed to multiple things.  Some use it to keep in touch, some use it to find out about brands, some use it to trust in friends about opinions.  No matter the reason, it's important to ensure that you are looking after your brand reputation.  On Twitter, there are so many opportunities to turn a not so favorable instance for a brand, into something that can flip it around and make it memorable.

Twitter is just one step down from a conversation that is being had in real-time, face to face.  Short bursts of information back and forth.  Because of twitters simplicity index being so high, it is very user-friendly.  Being able to favorite a tweet that you have enjoyed and want to come back to later is a great way to organize.  Like a tweet someone sent?  Retweet it.  Simple as that.  You have the opportunity to share photos, but they count as part of your 140 characters, so chose the caption wisely.  I like this because the idea of a tweet remains the same, there's no exception.  I like the challenge for me personally and for a brand as well.

Although even sooner than later Twitter is looking at a complete redesign, I will still be completely in love.  And you know what?  The redesign thats coming up is not going to be the last one.  If I remember correctly, the platform has just recently changed to a more 'iOS' look which I actually kind of liked.  The new twitter really looks pretty cool and I can't wait for it to roll out for more people.  I love the fact that there really isn't a necessity for an intricate background for each user.  Who knows, there may be that need eventually with the new platform but I don't seem to think that the background is going to be as essential as it used to be anymore.

I could go on forever about how much I love twitter.  I love that I can share my life with people, I love that I have the power to tell them where I am, or not.  I love that I can connect with people via short bursts of information and I love the challenge that I have when thinking about the tweet that I want to send.  Granted, I love social media as a whole so I don't really hate any platforms, but I just have to admit that Twitter is my all-time favorite.  My twitter feed is the feed of my life!  Let us not forget, twitter was the birthplace of the hashtag.  You're welcome for that reminder.

Do you guys feel the same way?  What do you NOT like about twitter?  It would be interesting to find out more about what you think because I want to know what everyone else loves and hates about social media.  Like i said, I am impartial because social media just constantly makes me happy, but I know thats not the case for most.  Send me a tweet and let me know what you think.  You never know, we could be on to something.  Thank you for reading.

Spring is STILL not here, so I'll wear nail polish to make up for it!

So with a very sarcastic-laden caption, I posted this photo on my Instagram a little earlier showing everyone what my polish of choice was for the day:

Waiting For The Internet

I just want spring to come, is that too much to ask?
Polish: Koala Bear-y by OPI

Thanks bestie for this exquisite present for my birthday xoxo.

A Friday in the Springtime!

Let's be honest with each other, even if you are a winter fan, you are excited for it to end this year.  To be honest, I don't care where you're from, the winter has sucked this year in New Jersey.  That sentence was not me trying to be mean.  Moving on, I could not be more enthusiastic about the longer, sunnier and warmer days that are coming our way.  This just makes me so happy.  So feeling as inspired as I was with these nice past couple of days I posted a photo on Instagram that just made me feel that much happier.  What have you been rocking on your nails and for army candy lately?

Nail Polish: Sinful Colors, 'Most Sinful'

I really like this polish.  I have been wearing it for three days now (Thurs-Sat).  There is very minimal chipping with no top coat and those polishes are always the best.  Sinful Colors can basically be found anywhere and they are so affordable.  Something different about this Sinful Colors polish though is that it is from their 'Gel Finish' line.  I would definitely give these polishes a try.

Watch: MK 5605
Bracelet: BCBG

Send me a tweet and let me know what you've been wearing to enjoy the first couple of days of spring.  I like spring because it always just makes me so happy leading up to summer.  Who doesn't?

St Patrick's Day Cupcake Wars at the Office!

So I 100% wanted to make sure that I saved this post for today of course!  Happy St. Patrick's Day!  I don't know if any of you are Irish but I am a little bit.  We don't normally celebrate at my house or anything but at my office this year, we had a cupcake decorating contest!  This was someone on the executive teams idea and when he first approached me about sending out a mass e-mail to get everyone involved, I must admit that I was nervous.  I honestly didn't think that anyone was going to participate but I was completely wrong, a couple of people did.  I was so excited!

So instead of each person on my team at work making separate cupcakes, we decided to get together and make them together and we are so happy that we did.  I looked up some ideas on Pinterest and I couldn't find anything better than these, so we decided to go with it.  The competition was on Friday at the office so Thursday during lunch we went to the supermarket and got the ingredients and after work, we went to my coworkers house and started baking/decorating!

This is what the inside ended up looking like.  We were so excited when we finally got the batter to actually look like this orange color.  Must admit, I used SO MUCH yellow with a little bit of red and it took a lot of mixing to get it to this point.  I love it although it took so long.  The green took two seconds because of course it didn't involve mixing any colors.  Of course if you get the color too dark, you can always add more yellow but this didn't involve any of that.

Here's what the final product looked like after adding the Rolos for the pots of gold!  We were impressed with them but what we did realize was that it was so hard to get the rainbows to stand up.  We used the AirHead rainbow candies and we think it might have been the wrong ones or something because they were a little bit 'gummier?'  Hahaha, I don't know.

Overall I was really happy with the way they came out!  I had suggested that they stay in the fridge over night but we didn't end up doing that and I think it would have helped.  We ended up winning second place in the contest to someone who made ALMOST THE SAME EXACT cupcakes.  The only difference was that the batter was funfetti (not as cool as our tie dye, hahaha), the icing was green, and there were Lucky Charms on it instead of pots of gold.  The biggest thing was that a guy made it, hahah so he won!  It's healthy competition so we didn't mind, it was altogether really fun and we love doing this kind of stuff in the office to hang out with everyone.

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!  If you are doing anything to celebrate let me know in the comments or send me a photo/tweet on twitter!  I hope you enjoy the holiday and I'll talk to you soon!

ECZEMA and DRY SKIN care for the dreaded winter!

I have been talking a lot lately about dry skin and let me tell you, I just about feel like the authority.  Ever since I was a kid, I have always had eczema.  When I was younger, I had it awful.  It was all over my hands and that was the only place, but it was SEVERE.  I used to sleep with socks on my hands and vaseline covering them until it just wouldn't go away so my dad took me to the doctor and I got something prescribed.  For what seems like all through my teenage years, I didn't get it as bad and only through the winters.  Because I hated going and getting something prescribed, I tried to always just use lotion on my hands or vaseline but it never did the trick as well as a prescription of course.  For the past couple of years of my 20's I have had it a small amount during the winter just like during my teen years, but this winter it has been the worst it has ever been in my entire life.

I'm sure if you have previously read my posts, you will see that I wrote about a cleanser that burned my eyes.  That ended up not being the case.  What happened was, I got eczema on my face this year.  I don't necessarily know if it had transferred onto my face from my hands, because normally it isn't a 'contact dermatitis' type condition, I think that it definitely just has developed onto my face.  This has never happened before and it was BRUTAL all winter long.  I have also noticed that if I was to fall asleep without removing makeup (bad anyway), the eczema will flare up even worse.

I am not brave enough yet to share pictures with you of what my eyes look like when they are swollen and red, so I won't do that, but maybe eventually.  You may also remember last Monday when I wrote about going to the eye doctor.  At that visit, she gave me a new, more 'allergy-friendly' contact solution which seems to actually have helped the situation and that makes me a little happier as well.

Moving into some products to help combat dry skin.  Let me start by saying that First Aid Beauty literally is exactly what it says: First Aid.  I was using Aveeno for a while which was working fine, but when I started to get the dry skin and eczema on my face, it was all of a sudden not working for me.  Perhaps come warmer weather I can start using it again but I have to be honest and say that I probably won't do that again because I have fallen in love with First Aid Beauty.  I plan to do a full post about their products because I have just yesterday purchased two more things from the line that I want to try out before I write more and comment.

Neosporin has never been anything special to me.  I mean, when do you ever use Neosporin for anything other than cuts and scrapes when you were a kid right?  Well, now there is another reason.  I was walking down the Cortizone aisle at Target looking for their version of Eczema-specialized cream when I saw the Neosporin one instead.  I saw that on the packaging it said 'Eczema Essentials' and I felt like it was a match made in heaven.  This is ridiculous but when you have eczema, it's the little things.  This stuff is MAGIC.  Nothing has helped me the way this has.  Not only does it ease the pain of the condition, but it moisturizes with irritation and improves your skin LEAPS and BOUNDS.

Cortizone is in here because I figured I would mention that it's the only thing that works on my face.  The Neosporin cannot be put near your eyes, so I have the Cortizone for that.  I actually consulted my doctor and she said that Cortizone is fine to put near the eyes so I trusted her and it helps so much.  Not only does it reduce the swelling, but it calms the skin and slowly takes away the redness.  It does sting extremely horribly when you apply it I must say, but the momentary pain is 5000% worth it in the end.  I would definitely recommend Cortizone 10 Intensive Healing Formula, it's safe for the face.

Just a quick statement on the products that I have tried by them though: they are amazing.  These products are very tolerant to sensitive skin.  The reason why I picked them up is because I heard about them online.  I knew that if the brand was called 'First Aid Beauty,' there had to be a reason.  When I went and checked the brand out in Sephora, I saw most of it said 'Safe for sensitive skin' or 'dermatologically tested' and instantly I was so happy.  I started with just the moisturizer, then I bought the cleanser and then I bought the redness serum and I am obsessed.  More to come about them later but for now you shall know that they are eczema friendly products and that makes me happy.

I picked up Mario Badescu 'Hydrating Hand Cream' while I was at Blue Mercury not too long ago and as you can see, I have torn halfway through it.  I love this stuff because the scent isn't too bad, which I will talk about with the next product.  This doesn't irritate your hands and it hydrates very nicely.  I really like the application and I feel like a little bit goes a long way.  I think the peppermint element calms and soothes your hands so that makes me the happiest when I know I don't have to worry about something smelling great irritating my hands.  This is definitely great to have at my desk at work and another one in my purse or car for on the go.  Thank you Mario!

This is my last and final product to talk about.  I LOVE this stuff, it's called 'Dream Cream' by Lush.  Although now I have found the Neosporin, this was what I first purchased and it made such a huge difference.  I immediately got results when I put this on my hand because of the calamine elements woven within the lotion.  The one bad thing I have to say about this though is that the smell is terrible.  I used to have this in my desk at work because it worked so well but it wasn't user-friendly and it did NOT smell good, so I switched to the Mario Badescu, but I switched right back because this one made a better impact and difference on my skin.  Thank you Lush!

Overall, I am so happy that I have found these products as they have made my eczema suffering suck a LOT less.  Although there really is no way to make eczema go away if you don't go to the doctor, these products have made the winter a little more tolerable.  I am going to get back under the covers of my couch and get ready to watch the newly premiering 'Crisis' tonight, you guys stay here!  Send me a tweet and let me know if I'm missing anything.  Talk to you soon and thank you for reading!

16 Ways Twentysomething Women Rationalize Spending Money via Cosmopolitan

So this story gives me life.  There are always times in your life when you feel like you just must spend money on something.  We all have to admit it.  For example, my ex-boyfriend has always been one to not spend any money on ANYTHING but even when he sees something come out, he spends the money immediately because he feels like he MUST have it before anyone else.  Everyone has the passion for at least one concept in their life that they feel is so important and thats where spending money often comes in.  While I admit that I do share that same passion for clothes, shoes and money, I don't always muse about why I should get said top or pair of jeans, I quickly rationalize and just make the purchase.  While a lot of these examples aren't exactly thoughts of mine, some of them make connections with the way I make my purchases and I couldn't help but share it with you guys.  After all, I did just have the busiest week at work EVER, so I do deserve $100 shopping spree at H&M, sign me up.  How do you rationalize spending money?

Sexiest Gif of Joe Jonas Ever via Buzzfeed

So everyone that knows me knows that while I was in high school I went through the hugest Jonas Brothers phase that you ever did see.  I skipped Senior Prom to get to a concert, I watch the live streams that they did, I learned as much has possible about the Road Dogs, I tried finding out everything there was to know about them living in New Jersey and a whole bunch more.  I wish I could say that I was embarrassed but I most certainly am not.  Being that they held such a soft spot in my heart for so long, I feel like at least Joe will never leave that spot and that's why I couldn't help but include this beautiful gif of the boy, ugh I love him.  Who was your favorite high school band?

Rose Water Pudding via Leaf tv on Youtube

So what better way to welcome Spring than with trying out the recipe for something as magical as freaking Rose Pudding.  This video makes me want to go out this weekend and get the ingredients to make this ASAP.  Not only is the presentation of this adorable, but I feel like it will taste SO AMAZING.  I love anything rose flavored.  I remember when I tried Rose Water Macarons from Le Maison du Maraon in New York this summer I almost fell over they were so delicious.

What To Do With Broken Jewelry via A Fab Life

I mean, let us be completely honest.  How much $2 jewelry have you purchase from Forever21?  I cannot tell a lie, I have way too much.  Granted, some of it is still holding up but a lot of it doesn't really last long especially if it's more statement-making or costume jewelry.  Leah and Mary always make 'Tipsy Tuesday' videos explaining some tips for random things in your life that you may not think to do and that's what sets them apart.  I love learning new things from them especially through their adorable storytelling videos and illuminating personalities.   They are adorable so go check them out and subscribe to their channel!

Chanel's Supermarket Chic via NY Times

Of course I can't let this go without talking about some of Chanel's latest.  I mean, as already a huge fan of everything Chanel, I can't really get over the fact that everything they do is perfect to me.  With this though, I felt fashionably touched.  Being that I used to work at a supermarket (most ridiculous, traumatizing seven years of my life), I felt like Lagerfeld reached deep into my soul and pulled out this fantastic connection.  Ugh, let me just sigh for a minute because even though I felt the connection, there are just more clothes that I probably will never be able to afford.  Strangely, I am still 100% okay with that.

What have you been loving this week?  Anything good?  You know I would love to see so feel free to share with me in the comments below or send me a tweet!  I hope you guys have an awesome weekend and I will talk to you soon!  Thanks for reading as always.

Rambles in Shambles.

So, for some reason I had this thought.  I am feeling extremely lazy to do anything other than spill out feelings about something that I have been thinking about for a really long time now.  I have to be honest, I don't necessarily know if writing it down like this is going to immediately free my thoughts of angst or anger or take the weight off my shoulders, but hey it's worth a try.

I hadn't realized how much of an impact on me these thoughts have been lately but that's normally what happens when you keep something in for so long.  I have been friends with my best friend since I was 6, we are both 24 now.  This is 18 years.  This is a long ass time.  When you are friends with someone for that long of a time, you get to know them.  You know the ins and outs of your relationship together, you know the ins and outs of their romantic relationships and they know yours.  And that's the best thing about having such a strong bond right?  Sure there were ups and downs throughout all of our years as friends but guess what?  Would it even be a friendship if those things didn't happen?  No.

I can tell you right now that at one point, we had stopped talking for a year because I didn't support her in who she was dating.  In my honest opinion, I think that makes me an amazing friend.  I stood up to her and told her that dating him wasn't good for her, he wasn't going to make her a better person and he wasn't right for her.  She didn't respect my opinion and that was fine, we didn't talk for a year.  Like they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder and that's okay.

I think part of realizing that was what made the friendship come back stronger than ever after a year of not even talking to each other the slightest bit.  When I had spoken to her for the first time on the phone, I found the same comfort that I did for the first length of years we had been friends.  It was like nothing changed a bit.  I didn't expect anything less because if you have a bond of that long, you don't break it.  Everything was fine and we scheduled time to get together and talk things over and we had both concluded that it was probably the best thing we had ever done.  I know that to this day, I certainly could not imagine my life without her.

Fast forward a couple of years to a completely separate issue.  Sense she has been my friend since we were 6, she knows exactly what I have been through and so does her family.  I trusted her and her family with my life and I always counted on her mom as my mom.  It made me happy to know that I was able to have the connection of a mother in her being that I couldn't have that same connection with mine.  Through the years of the hardest struggles in my life I knew that there was always one place I could go to talk to someone that would be unbiased, truthful and strong.  I admired that quality so much in her and I think that's also a part of me today.  When you spend an allotted amount of time with someone, you start to have them rub off on you and that's why we are all such eclectic people.

After Superstorm Sandy hit, my best friend and her family were at probably one of their lowest lows.  One of the saddest losses in my life aside from death, it was her childhood home.  Now for me to have emotions about the loss of her house, you know it was bad.  First of all, we had so many memories in that house, it was her home, my safe haven.  We used to crawl under the dining room table with hose toppers and pretend we lived on a desert island and the were our only water sources.  We used to sneak Luden's cough drops from the kitchen and eat them like they were candy.  We used to eat potato chips with ketchup, chocolate cake and sing Spice Girls together under that table.

The memories are so nostalgic it's really unbelievable.  I relinqushed my thoughts at the time to another friend of mine and snarled back 'Brit, you guys are still friends, right?' and I said, 'Of course,' and he goes, 'Well then that's all that matters.'  I thought there was so much power in that.  I of course was distraught over the fact that we would never have that childhood house back but I knew moving forward there would be a brand new house somewhere else to create memories in and so quickly I became completely okay with it.

She finally got into her new house and my dad went over to help out with some electrical problems they were initially having.  Apparently while he was there, the conversation arose about how eventually, I was going to need to have my mother in my life (whom I don't currently have a relationship with and haven't for years, she knows this).  My dad was completely shocked, told her specific instances about my situation with my mother and right after he had finished, my friends mother says, 'Oh my god, I had no idea it was anything like that.'

Given the history I just spelled out for you, you can probably assume that I was floored when I heard the conversation had taken place.  That actually takes me to where I am today and how I'm feeling about it.  This situation is what got me writing this blog post.  Partly because I want to know if anyone else has ever been in this situation and partly because I want people to know that things like this are out there and instances like this do happen.  Every once in a while, someone in your life that you thought you could trust, confide in, count on as a support system and call mom does you wrong.  I feel like because I have had this connected relationship for 16 years, It's very difficult for me to just get over.  I almost felt betrayed knowing that all of my darkest days that I spent crying to her because of things that were happening with my family went basically unrecorded.  How could she not remember them?

If you ever come across a similar situation, my recommendation would be this: hang in there.  I know this is so generic but it's completely true.  Lean on those in your life that you KNOW are there for you at that moment you need them.  Also remember that in the end, all you are going to have is yourself at the end of the day.  The thoughts racing through your head can only be heard by you if you don't let them out so if you want to talk about it, don't hold back.

I'm wishing you happiness, warmth and love for the rest of the week!  How gorgeous was it today in NJ?  I was LOVING it.  I had my sunroof open and everything on the way home from work.  Thanks for reading todays completely random post.  Check back tomorrow and send me a tweet!  Xoxoxoxo!

Saturdazeeee ∞ ☼☽★✺

Wow.  Today was an absolutely stunning day, probably the best one of the year so far.  I definitely feel spring creeping up on us and I could not be more excited.  It reached and exceeded at one point 60 degrees and it was absolutely everything.  I opened my sunroof while I was out running errands and it just generally puts everyone in such an amazing mood.  The best part of the day was the beautiful sun and weather, but I do have to say I am pretty relaxed right now with my Honeysuckle candle from Bath and Body Works while watching Revenge.  How did you spend your weekend?  Check out my outfit:

Of course I had on my MK 5605.  I love this watch more than anything but pretty soon it's going to be time to switch to the rose gold for spring!  I really want to get a silver one soon so maybe it's time to get shopping!

Sense the weather was a little breezy, typical spring, I had to still be wearing leggings and of course I had on my boots from Aldo but on top I was very reminiscent of the season.

I got this top from H&M last summer and I picked it up off rack and instantly fell in love.  The print is so carefree and casual so it just makes me happy.  This is completely opposite form what I would ever wear on the office so it keeps me relaxed and fun.

I decided to take my Kate Spade bag out for errands.  This bag has a strap so you can use it cross-body or as a clutch and today I decided to use it as a clutch.  Running in and out of places it doesn't really matter but for shopping, I would definitely want to go with the cross-body.

Here's a cheeky selfie in the Old Navy dressing room that I couldn't help but stop in while I was on my way to Target.  I don't know why but I just can't get enough of the pixie pants they have right now!

I of course can't end the post without a Red Light Selfie.  I had to show you my blush which is an adorable peach wash of color on the cheeks called Gina by Nars.   I was obsessed with today and I can only hope that tomorrow will be the same.  I love Sundays they are so fun.  What did you guys do/wear today?  What do you like to wear to stay relaxed?  Leave me a comment or send me a tweet and of course have a great rest of the weekend everyone!

22 Amazing International Shopping Sites That Ship to the USA via StyleCaster

Being that I always find myself mostly shopping in-store, I really want to try and start shopping online more.  It's not that I never shop online because I do, but I definitely want something new as I am tired of the same stuff.  Granted, you can always get something good at H&M or ShopLately online but I want something new for the spring and thats the good thing about this article from StyleCaster.  I love some of these stores!  I looked at the price range and some of them are unsavory but some of them are fine.  If you find something that you like though thats of higher price, you can always save it for a rainy day and that's why I definitely think this link is bookmark-worthy (and they ship international!).

30 Signs You Follow Too Many Fashion Bloggers on Instagram via StyleCaster

This is so incredibly relevant I cannot believe it.  I know there are stories out about similar things but this one just reigns true to my own heart.  I was out with friends recently and I just could not put my phone down because I was too busy catching up with the latest blogger at the latest Paris Fashion Week show.  I don't know, there really is no explanation for why I am so obsessed but just like any great love, you just can never let it go.  Who do you all follow on Instagram?  I can't see my love for the social platform going away anytime soon.  Do you agree?

10 Friends to Lose in Your Twenties via Cosmopolitan

Being in your twenties can be the hardest part of your life.  Everyone is always told that high school is difficult and that it gets better when you go to college to start your life but thats not always true.  I think part of being out of school, post-college, isn't always peaches and cream and it stinks to think that you'll have to spend so much time looking for that dream job that you thought you would get as soon as you graduated from college.  I also think that finding yourself, outside of what job you want for the rest of your life, is part of your twenties and that can be the most difficult thing in the world.  Dating in your twenties can be a horrible experience, finding time for yourself can be a horrible experience and family issues can be a horrible experience.  The last thing you need is for the few friends that you actually have in your life, to turn on you and not support you.  I say all of this to say that when you're in your twenties, it's time to start trimming the fat and that's why I think this article from Cosmo does actually have a few words that are somewhat of a helpful guide to figuring out friends in your twenties.  Granted, I think being able to actually see who you need and who you don't on your own, is also a way more valuable skill than any article you may ever read.

The Spring Collection via H&M

It's no secret, we all know I love H&M.  Being that I have such an obsession, I can't wait to get my hands on a couple of pieces from the spring line.  There are a few things that I definitely can live without when I look at the collection online but who knows what will happen when I see things in the store.  I know that probably, my opinion will change.  There is a tunic in particular that I really want because its adorable but it's sold out on the website so it I don't know how readily available it will be in the store.  There also is a darling skirt in the collection that I know I wont buy because I can't really see myself wearing enough haha.  Don't you do that sometimes?  Buy something that you're obsessed with just because you like it and then end up never wearing it?

Well, that's all I have for you this week.  I went out with friends tonight and did a little shopping at the Jersey Shore Premium Outlets.  Usually the Aldo is so good there but they didn't have anything that specifically caught my eye this time.  There was one pair of shoes but they didn't have my size so I didn't end up getting them.  We moved on to a couple of the other stores and nothing was really jumping out at me for some reason and that's a first hahaha.  I didn't complain though because this weekend I am heading into the city to do some shopping with another friend of mine.  I can't wait because it's been since September that I've been to the city and that makes me really sad.  I can't wait to also spend time with my friend because things have been rough and time hasn't really been on our side lately when normally we get together at least once per week.

So be on the look out for a haul sometimes this weekend/beginning of next week.  Thank you so much for reading and I hope you liked this weeks fun links!  I cannot believe it is March 7 already.  I sat in the same place last weekend thinking about how 'it wasn't even March yet' and now here we are, already a week in.  I am so happy for the warmer weather and for the clocks to Spring ahead this weekend!  Talk to you all soon and thank you so much for reading!  Send me a tweet and let me know your weekend plans or what your Spring purchases have been so far this season!

My Day in Photos: Cronuts, an OOTD, the Eye Doctor, Statement Necklaces and Pretty Sunsets!

So today felt like a day to show you 'My Day in Pictures.'  To be completely honest with you, I had a great day at work, a couple of pretty cool things happened and I had productive meetings.  Not only did I have awesome meetings and get a lot of things done, but we celebrated the March birthdays we have in the office by ordering DoCo Donuts and Cronuts.  They were pretty good I can't lie.  I mean do you see the one below with bacon on it?  I didn't try that one but someone else in my department did and she was all about it.  I tried a cookie dough cronut and it was SO SWEET.  OMG!

I snapped this gorgeous pic on the way home from work.  Very dangerous, I know, but how could you miss an opportunity to take a picture of a gorgeous sky like this?  I don't think you could.

So this next picture comes with a story.  I am making a really weird face because I was waiting in my car to go into the eye doctors office.  I don't know if you can tell from the photo or not, but my eyes are extremely irritated and its very frustrating because I just recently got new contacts (yesterday) and all of a sudden something was flaring up on my skin under/on the side of my eyes again!  I couldn't believe it, so I immediately called my doctor and tried to get an appointment and here I was.  Also, I know my hair looks extremely ratch here and I don't want to talk about it.

I thought my necklace was looking pretty fly here just hanging from my rearview mirror so I snapped a quick picture of it with the sky looking so pretty in the background.  Things like this make me happy.

Finally, my outfit for the day.

I am obsessed with this shirt.  The arms are a gray polka dot pattern on top of a black background which is grounds enough for me to buy it, but the rest of the shirt is what definitely sold it.  As you can see in the next picture, the shirt expands into a floral pattern that is also gray/black&white.  The patterns are so contrasting but they are perfect together because they are in the same color family.  This is the best way to mix patterns if you are scared to do so.  I of course am wearing my MK 5605, my trusty winter watch.

You can see my pants color here the best, they are an emerald green and perfect to wear for the winter because not only does the color match the season, but also perfectly with this shirt.  You can also kind of catch my shoes here.  I don't know if you can tell but the shoes are black booties from Aldo and they are SO comfortable.  I love the suede texture of the front part of the bootie but in the black there is this weird snake/fir texture.  I am going to write a full post about booties coming soon, so look for a better explanation there!

Here is another shot of the shoes and my pants in which you can't even tell what color anything is.  The reason for this photo though, is because I was watching Pretty Little Liars and I wanted to share that with you guys.  I mean, what else is this post worth if it didn't include Pretty Little Liars?  Btw, Spencer looks like she's going cray in next weeks episode.  What do you think?

Well everyone, you've spent your day with me and now it's time for me to get to bed.  I am going to snuggle into covers and get warm, watch some YouTube and get sleeping!  I can't believe tomorrow is hump day already, these weeks are passing so quickly for some reason.  ITS MARCH!  Ahhh, so insane.  Leave a comment below or send me a tweet and let me know how your day was.  Also, let me know what you are thinking about Pretty Little Liars lately.  #SpencerIsCray.

Oscar Fashion Recap!

I know what you're thinking: I'm probably going to tell you that Lupita Nyong'o rocked the Oscars last night.  Well if you think that, then you are sorely mistaken.  I think her dress was great last night but what the heck was going on with that headband!?  I didn't like it one bit.  People were saying that they wanted to 'run out right away and get a headband' and I was ready to just vom.  I mean come on.  I don't think when you have hair like hers you should be wearing a headband.

Moving on!  I have to say my favorite look of last night was most definitely Anna Kendrick.  I don't know much about her career to be completely honest and I only normally watch these awards shoes for the red carpet but I do know that Kendrick is hilarious.  I think this dress suits her personality perfectly.  She is gorgeous and so is this dress but I think it's also sassy to match her attitude.  The sheer paneling under the bust is darling with the red detail and the neckline is gorgeous.  She gets an A+ on the hair as it's up and away from the top so all of the attention is on the lines of the dress.  Love it.

Anna Kendrick, J. Mendel

Jessica's look I liked for a couple of reasons.  I don't know, ever since I heard Wendy Williams call her boring I started to think, "Ya know what, she IS boring" and this dress kind of fits that personality but with a kick and I like it.  (That is certifiably the weirdest thing I think I have ever said).  The nude color suits her perfectly but I do wish that she wore her hair up.  I think it would have looked a lot better that way.

Jessica Biel, Chanel Couture

Giuliana looks great in this Australian designer.  I think, on the contrary to Biel, she could have definitely worn her hair down but thats the only downfall.  I love the tulle at the bottom of the dress and like Rancic said herself, she looked like a princess all night.  I love the top of the silhouette and all of the sequined detail because it was just that extra detail the dress needed.

Giuliana Rancic, Paolo Sebastian

I mean does Watts not look absolutely stunning?  I feel like this is something I would wear to get married in because it is simple, but statement-making.  Although my favorite part of the whole look is the dress itself, the necklace is also darling.  The only thing that could make this better would be an updo, which seems to be the common mistake among all of the guests.

Naomi Watts, Calvin Klein Collection

Charlize is so pretty and I even think so not being a fan of the shorter hair.  This dress is drop dead gorgeous and initially I didn't think so.  When I realized I couldn't stop staring at it for a good five minutes I then was like, 'Wow Brittany, snap out of it this is just the most gorgeous thing you will ever see in your life.'  I feel like Theron can probably do no wrong and I definitely wish I had her body.  Ugh, it's just not fair.  I just don't like her hair.

Charlize Theron, Dior Couture

There were a couple more leading ladies that I liked last night but these were the best ones.  Overall, there were a lot of light colors even in the suiting from Ryan Seacreast in Burberry to Jared Leto and Ellen Degeneres.  What were some of your favorite looks from last night?  As you know Anna Kendrick was my favorite, so share yours in the comment below or send me a tweet!  xoxo

Revlon Parfumerie: Fresh Linen.

As you sadly know, we are in for it.  By this, I mean we are in for another storm that is set to come our way at the end of today, right into tomorrow morning.  This is going to be bad for many reasons but the worst reason is because of the morning commute.  Granted, if the weather is bad enough, my office will close but it's just extremely annoying to have to worry about how bad the snow will be because granted, trusting the forecast is never a good thing (it changes every five seconds).

For today's lazy Sunday, I woke up with really only a couple of things that I had to do.  I must do laundry, pickup my room a little bit and I just really wanted to re-paint my nails.  So, with that said, my dad put on a pot of coffee, made us breakfast sandwiches and here we are chillin'.  My dad isn't painting his nails though, he's working on the snow blower a little bit (lol).

So above are the two integral parts of my day.  On the right you will see my adorable coffee-stained mug that is making me very happy.  Quick tip for people, try drinking your coffee black.  I don't know, I have tasted coffee like one time with sugar and creamer and I just don't like it.  Ever since I started drinking coffee, I have been drinking it black.  Every single day, it just tastes so much better and stronger.  On the left you will see my nail polish of choice for today (and probably tomorrow), Revlon's Parfumerie in Fresh Linen.

With this color, you need more than two coats, on my nails currently is three coats.  It may seem like a bit of a no brainer that a white polish would need more than two coats, but this one has a pearly finish so you might be fooled.  The color is beautiful but even with three coats you can still see right through it in the photo to the bottom of my nails.  I didn't use a base coat or top coat with this, but I didn't want to because when I test a polish, I always want to do it without base/top coats to see how well they are on their own.

I'm pretty sure I have never talked about these polishes on my blog before but I have a couple of them as you will see down below and I do enjoy them.  Other than the scent of the polishes, my favorite thing about them is the bottle shape.  They are so darling and look like a tiny little perfume bottle and it makes me so happy.

As you can see, I have six of the polishes in this line.  I have: Fresh Linen, Pink Pineapple, Beachy, Wintermint, Autumn Spice and Apricot Nectar.  My favorite out of these is most definitely beach (scent wise).  These all smell exactly like they are labeled and that makes me happy.  I say this because Revlon came out with another line of scented polishes that didn't smell that great and I was so upset.  I bought a beachy-scented one and it smelled so bad and nothing like the beach.  These polishes are great and they only smell like a normal nail polish upon first opening up the bottle, right after that they smell like the scent they are labeled.  I couldn't believe it.  Also, the scent lasts longer than just the first day.  I would probably say about three days later, the scent was still there but starting to wear off, definitely pretty cool!

Thank you for reading once again.  I felt inspired by the snow (um, ew) to paint my nails this angelic white color and I am happy with the decision.  Who knows how long I will feel this inspired but I hope this snow comes and goes because I looked further into Accuweather and it says that we are going to be getting temperatures in the 50's and 60's so I cant wait.  What polishes are you loving right now?  Mine are always so dependent on my mood as you know from last couple of color choices.  Let me know in the comments below or send me a tweet.  Thanks for reading!  xoxo
